well as some of you know... i found my self suddenly boostless the other day and began to panic

Was unsure of the problem and i tested many theories... well i finally came to the conclusion that my little exhaust leak between my turbo and manifold must have gotten worse... so i ordered a new gasket and installed it today...

what do ya know... perfect working order and the car sounds better than i can remember.

here is the little ....... that cause me so much pain and hours of labor today

You've got a twin scroll turbo? What was that old gasket made from, anyway? Did all of the gasket material manage to stay out of the turbine?

That .... gasket is pretty thick. Part of it looked like it had been blown out like an old woman's used cooter. I'd say most of the particles stayed out of the manifold and turbine. He got the new one put on and it sounded better than it ever has. Then his oil return line gasket blew and oil went everywhere. It's back to Toyota for another gasket and about an hours worth of work.

Glad you got that fixed. Any type of exhaust leak will play havoc on your turbo, but that leak was huge. I think you told me the amount of miles that car had, and that the gasket was original, if so, it sure did last a long time. Now that you got that fixed, I want my ride in that thing. That car show is on the 12th, if you attend, that would be a good time for sure....

I think he blew it up the day he fixed it. It's only firing on two cylinders now. We were going down the high way and then all of a sudden we had a loss of power and it felt like the car was missing out. Cylinders 1 and 2 just quit firing. We've checked everything possible with the ignition. It all seems to be ok. Upon closer inspection we see that the timing has been high...for God knows how long. Poor AllTrac.

That super sucks... Hopefully it is something simple like fouled plugs or stuck injectors. ??
