Finally the new 07 GT-R...guess what peeps.. this is going to be a World wide production car... guessimates put either a 3.5 or 3.8 TT V6 AWD with lots of computer aided traction gizmos and making north of 450 hp...as Japan no longer has the dreaded 299 hp cap.
in other news Mazda is going to direct injection on most all its vehicles, the Bugatti Veyron is FINALLY being built with a price tag of ONLY 1 million euros.
Ford does not formally have ANY ties with Nismo and Infinti is going global

championship white 05 itr <3....... dont even look close to that accord, maybe because im just use to it. Dont compare them to american car companies. They dont just rebadge their cars. Like plymouth breeze, dodge stratus, chrysler sebring. ya know

I agree completely. They water them down first before they sell them in the states. :p
But as far as the 05' Integra/RSX vs. the 03'+ Accord front ends go...man, that's the very first thing I thought it was when I saw it. I know the rear end doesn't look anything close to the Accord's, but that front is way too similar for me, IMHO.

Easiest way to keep em cheap... the costs factor isn't just unique to US brands peeps.
you have to look at for thos models that orginate over there it COSTS more to build the itr motor, it COSTS more to ship it over here and it COSTS more to keep that nice functional design. So you trim the costs on the motor and the styling and you come even on the shipping.. keeping the price down to a level to compete with other auto makers

LOL, believe it or not Craig, I actually agree. Pontiac uses substandard parts on just about everything, so I really can't argue with you there. :)

right on.. just reasearchin on what can be done on mine a while ago. Looks like the head design on my 3.4 is based on the same head the used all the way back to the 2.8's in the late 80's..grrr How ever I did find out that the head for the newer 3.4's in the GA GT's fits the same mounting spot. Only to use it, I would need a piston head change. Cus the stock GT head with MY stock Pistons would result in 14.8:1 compression. GAWD. But that head is the Bane of my top end.
to top that off I've learned that I'm running on 16lb injectors. Which in they're stock form are almost maxed out in the 3.4... And of course the hog of my launches....a 1900 converter...come on now...my powerband isn't even till 3000
I've found a bunch of stuff that I can do.. but I'm wondering if I should just save up the cash and get one with the better 3.8 or just soak some cash into a built up 3.4 just for the sake of learning to build one...

Your right, he should have done the swap before spending all the money on the 3.8. It would be lighter and making more power with the same amount of boost he's running now. :) Thats a decision he made himself though. :D

well thats not ness. true. Just for example, the difference between a 3.0 inline 6 from an IS300 and the 4.3 V8 from its 430 cousin is a mere 1 pound. Both in stock trim as well. The 3.8 is mostly aluminium as well so don't think a bigger block engine weighs more everytime.
BTW.... found out that my 3.4 in stock form already has forged rods and pushrods hehe.. how just need to do something bout that iron head.
neways back on topic. Nissian was quoted in saying the new GT-R would be a world wide production model what do you think the chances of seeing it state side? If we do you think we will see an affordable (athough highly under powered) model or like a 100k supercar?
i hope its not some .... 100k car and even if it is someone will have the nerve to buy one and do it up so ugly that i'll lose most taste for it ... even thought i really don't think i've ever seen an ugly GT-R
