I would love to go and try to blow up my car!!! I'm not familiar with Gleason, how far away is that from Paducah? Is that a dragstrip or roadcourse? Entry fees, sanctioned by anyone, times, classes, etc...

No need to bash a track that at least tries. They have better timing than i-57 and usually have the track prepped much better. I ran deep in the 6's there, so it can't be that bad.

is it a 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile track or what?

Probably domestic... since its domestic powered.. Body isnt what pushes it down the track..

The drive to Gleason is that far...Its just a boring drive...and yeah...Atleast they make an effort...and its a 1/8 mile. I may try to come but Im more into a T&T setup. I kind of like Free Runs.

Gleason isn't that bad and has a very relaxed feel. The track has gotten better IMO. I'm pretty sure I'll be there. I have to get a speed-o cable first.

The last time I went I walked on the track and it was so sticky that it almost pulled my shoes off my feet. No kidding.

Who here has ACTUALLY made a pass at Gleason? And NO it doesnt count if you were on regular street tires.. Anyone that .....es about no traction running regular street tires is a ....ing moron.

I couldnt agree more

i have never had traction problems there myself, i have always ran slicks there. And if traction was a problem we just walked up to the booth and asked them to put down some compound. The majority of the time when people says traction sucks is on the import nights when they know most people arent running slicks, nor have the power to need traction compound.

I concur...

The majority of cars that I've seen with traction issues were ill prepared for the track...

That doent mean that well prepped cars are immune. just less likley.

the times I've seen well prepped cars have issues, is when they share the track with ill prepped cars.

Dont have as many traction issues in pro and super pro, but then again you dont see as many 4 wheelers, 4 wheel drives, and commuter cars on those nights either.

of course this is just MY observation...

i guess im a moron. i didnt see any need to buy a pair of slicks to run once per year. i have made a ton of passes, ask anyone that has ever seen me there. i dont see much of teh "pit" area, im driving all night. i never had a race car so its not like they were high hp beasts i was driving, but any street hooks 10x better than that place.

I'm not crazy about the "no score board" crap. I think its an excuse to save a little on the electric bill. Besides, I like to see what everyone runs.

Me and two others will be there if thier's going to be tree and scoreboard.

NWTNMS

We can turn the scoreboards on or off it don't matter to me. The tree will have to be on to work the timing system. Hope to see everyone there on Sunday to run as many times as you would like. I would also like to talk to some of you about setting up some heads up stock4,stock6, and some modified clases to race on a regular basis.

I think were going to try and bring the black car down??? Whats the rules say about driving them in? Gas mileage and $2.50 a gallon dont warrant driving it all the way from Murray....Green car (mine ) Should be ready in a few weeks barring I dont find a cracked head this weekend...

Rain is along the southern border of TN moving East. Everything should be ok.
