View Full Version : Another new guy
Hi, I'm Rick... I had frequently came on here and read posts, but never signed up because I was embarassed by my old cars. Those would be the '89 Regal GS (which could have been cool), the '94 Lebaron LE (which isn't a convertable), and the '86 Z28 (which was really smokey). The Z28 was a real peice of junk, but it was pretty quick for it's condition: rust on EVERY body panel, the driver door falling off, and the constant stream of oil/exhaust smoke coming from the undernieth and inside, and the performance reducing Astro 700r4 tranny.
I just got a bone stock S13. I had to follow the guy who actually paid money for my Z28 down some side streets and I couldn't keep up with it. That's not saying much, though, because everybody knows stock a 240sx is not very fast... esspecially in a straight line.
It is the car I have always wanted, though... only not bone stock. The KA has got 200,000 miles on it, so I don't know how long it's going to last. Hopefully it will last until I can afford an sr20.
That's me in a nut shell. Oh yeah, I'm in a band too. www.myspace.com/calloway. Check us out if you want.
Peace.

welcome aboard, and do you have a "180SX" or a real S13?
(S13's are the Coupe version's, while the hatchs are 180SX's)

Naked Ted eh?! Those where some better times in Marshall Co. I suppose...
Yep, that's where I've heard of you before Rick Hasse.
I suppose it's a 180, than. I just say s13 so I don't have to say 89-94, or that it's a 90. It sounds cooler to say s13 than what year the car is... and I'm not Rick Hasse... In fact I take insult to that. Rick Marks... the bass player.... who are you? (btw, Naked Ted is dead. Naked Ted was a wanna be pop punk band. The same guys that were in Naked Ted now make up Calloway, which is something completely different but similarly the same.)

Haha, Ricky Marks...my mistake dude. I remember when Ryan Moore would talk to you during lunch, and I would pretend to care about the random small talk that took place during that hour. But from what I can gather, you seemed like a pretty .... funny guy.
Man, I don't guess I've ever really talked to you in person then. My name is Eric Eplee.
Naked Ted...wow, that's been ages ago.
Yeah, I have no idea who you are. Too bad I don't still have any year books... Most of high school is a blur. I was a hard core import hater, too. Burd can vouch for that as most of my import hating was dirrected at him and the mirage during arts appriciation. But I repent all of that. It was my dad's fault for drilling the GM into my head.
Kinda funny how I caught on late and now everybody knows more than me cause they knew it was cool all along. Life's a learning experience, and I want a fast car.

I think I know what you're talking about when you say "high school blur".
It's weird, about the time I graduated, I figured I knew most of the people in my graduating class pretty well. But graduation night, I seriously sat in my seat just amazed at how many people I had never even seen before. Not that I was avoiding anyone, but .......where was I when they went to school?!
I dropped out and got my diploma else where, so I didn't have to deal with all that. The only people from high school that I'm REALLY still in touch with are Jon and Dylan: my drummer, guitarist, and little brothers...
I just wish I would have dropped out of band and took some vocational classes...

Man its never too late to learn some Auto tech skills if that's what you're talking about. I never took any vocational classes, everything I've learned about cars I've watched from my friend's after high school. It's a lot less complicated than most people make it sound and look. Just gotta get your hands dirty I guess.

Welcome to the site. You said that you in a band, I think I seen the bands listing on a flyer. Painstock I think that was what it was called. It's being held at Fohs Hall in Marion. I'm I right.
You are correct. I believe we are playing there next weekend or something like that. If the gig didn't get canceled. I know one of our up coming shows got dropped when they found out we were a punk/indie band cause all they wanted were the bar band blues.
TYLER! Man, I haven't talked to you in like years. I heard you were into the very same kinda car that I am into. You know what that means? It means we need to hang out. If you are ever in PAducah by Noble Park, and you drive past the shell across from robert cherry civic center and there is a red 240sx, come talk to me. Or get in touch with me some other way. My e-mail is iliketoplaybass@hotmail.com. I don't have the internet, but I go to the library like once a week, so I'll hit you back.
